About Rogue

Rogue — real name Anna Marie — is one of Marvel's most compelling and complex mutants, a Southern-born powerhouse whose very touch can strip away another person's memories, abilities, and life force. She made her explosive debut in Avengers Annual #10 (1981), immediately establishing herself as a genuine threat by absorbing the powers and psyche of Carol Danvers so completely that Ms. Marvel's abilities became permanently bonded to her. That single issue is a cornerstone of any serious X-Men or Avengers collection, and its back-issue demand reflects just how consequential that first appearance truly was.

After debuting as a villain under the guidance of her adoptive mother Mystique in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Rogue made one of the most dramatic heel turns in Marvel history — walking into Professor Xavier's mansion and begging the X-Men for help, tormented by the cacophony of stolen psyches living inside her mind. Her transition into a full X-Man, chronicled across Chris Claremont's legendary Uncanny X-Men run, gave the character extraordinary emotional depth. Unable to touch anyone without consequence, Rogue's longing for human connection became the engine of some of the most powerful storytelling in the entire X-Men line. Her will-they-won't-they relationship with Gambit across the late 1980s and 1990s became one of Marvel's defining romances.

Rogue has anchored or co-starred in nearly every major X-Men story arc worth owning, from Fall of the Mutants and X-Tinction Agenda to Messiah Complex and Avengers vs. X-Men. Her starring role in the X-Men: Legacy series gave her one of the most character-focused solo runs in mutant history, exploring her past, her identity, and her eventual mastery over her own powers. She has also served as a central figure on the Avengers Unity Squad in Uncanny Avengers, bridging the gap between Marvel's two most iconic superhero factions.

For collectors, Rogue's key issues span decades and multiple series, making her one of the hobby's most rewarding characters to chase. Avengers Annual #10 in high grade is a genuine trophy book, while her many landmark Uncanny X-Men appearances remain perennially sought after. Whether you're hunting her villain-era appearances, her emotional Claremont-era growth, or her modern solo work, Rogue's bibliography rewards collectors at every level.
