About Gamora

Gamora Zen Whoberi Ben Titan is one of Marvel's most formidable cosmic characters, a survivor forged in tragedy and transformed into the deadliest warrior in the universe. The last of her alien race, the Zen-Whoberians, she was taken in — and weaponized — by the Mad Titan Thanos, who raised her as an adoptive daughter and living instrument of destruction. Her first appearance in Strange Tales #180 (1975), created by Jim Starlin, marks one of the most significant debut issues in Marvel's cosmic library. That Bronze Age key is essential for any serious collector, as it planted the seed for decades of cosmic storytelling and introduced a character who would eventually become a household name.

Gamora's early adventures alongside Adam Warlock in the pages of Strange Tales and Warlock cemented her place in Marvel's cosmic mythology. Her complex relationship with Thanos — at once her greatest torment and the source of her near-unmatched combat abilities — has driven some of Marvel's most compelling story arcs. She played a pivotal role in the Infinity Gauntlet saga, one of the most collected crossover events in comics history, and her continued presence in Infinity Watch and later Annihilation storylines kept her at the center of Marvel's cosmic universe. The Annihilation event of 2006 is widely regarded as a renaissance moment for Marvel cosmic, and Gamora's issues from that era are increasingly sought after.

The formation of the modern Guardians of the Galaxy, launched in 2008 by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, elevated Gamora to a new tier of mainstream recognition. Her role as a core Guardian gave her a permanent home in one of Marvel's most beloved team books, and the subsequent 2013 relaunches ahead of the MCU films created a wave of collector demand that hasn't slowed. Her shocking transformation into the villainous Requiem during Donny Cates' Infinity Wars run added a new dark chapter to her legacy and introduced key issues that modern collectors have taken notice of.

Whether you're hunting down her Bronze Age debut, stacking up Annihilation-era cosmic keys, or chasing her modern story arcs, Gamora's back catalog offers tremendous depth for collectors at every level. Her crossover appeal — spanning cosmic, team, and solo titles across nearly five decades — makes her one of Marvel's most versatile collecting targets. As cosmic Marvel continues to expand, her foundational issues only grow in significance.
