About Brit

Brit, whose full name is Brittany, is one of Image Comics' most durable and battle-hardened figures — a near-indestructible warrior whose longevity stretches far beyond ordinary human limits. Operating within the expansive Invincible universe created by Robert Kirkman, Brit carries himself with the grounded confidence of someone who has simply survived everything the world has thrown at him. His powers are deceptively straightforward: he doesn't fly, he doesn't shoot energy beams — he just cannot be hurt, and he's been honing his combat skills for longer than most heroes have been alive. That combination makes him one of the most quietly dangerous operatives in the Global Defense Agency's arsenal.

Brit made his first appearance in The Agents #3 in 2003, giving collectors an early entry point into a character who would go on to anchor his own solo series. His debut in that issue is a key pickup for anyone building out a complete Kirkman-era Image library. He subsequently starred in Brit: Cold Death, a one-shot that deepened his mythology, before graduating to the ongoing Brit series which fleshed out his world, his complicated personal life, and the brutal reality of what it means to be functionally immortal in a world full of super-powered chaos. These early issues are foundational reads for fans of the Invincible universe.

Beyond his solo exploits, Brit's membership in the Guardians of the Globe and his ties to the broader Superhuman Community place him at the center of some of the most significant team dynamics in the Kirkman Image universe. His role within the Global Defense Agency gives him a militaristic edge that sets him apart from more traditional superhero archetypes. He's a soldier first, a legend second — and stories that lean into that tension tend to be among his most compelling outings.

For collectors, Brit represents an underrated corner of the Invincible universe that remains more accessible than many of its counterparts. First appearances, early solo issues, and crossover appearances in Invincible-adjacent titles haven't yet reached the premium prices of some of their shelf-mates, making now a smart time to hunt them down. As interest in Kirkman's Image work continues to grow — fueled in part by adaptations and renewed reader enthusiasm — back issues featuring Brit are quietly becoming smart additions to any serious Image Comics collection.
